Speaking of Life...

I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!

I missed all of y'all terribly :-( But I'm home now and it's ok :-D So, on to the trip!!!

Sunday---I wake up at like, some crazy hour, and start the 7 1/2 hour trek to D.C. My mom is going slightly insane from the traffic, I'm calming her down, Emily is making noise; classic car ride. We stop to get ice cream because I wanted some **hehehe** and waited in the ice cream line for like, SERIOUSLY a half hour. I finally got my ice cream. All was right in the world. We arrived at our hotel, check in, and flump on the beds for 10 minutes and then go to register for the competition. After we registered on the campus *university of maryland* I bought a Nerdfest **history day** sweatshirt. The Bergers, the Kozlowskis, and my family went out to Pizza Hut where we proceeded to eat like hogs and I spilled a pitcher of Diet Coke. Then I spilled a pitcher of ice. The waiter glared at me. We got to the hotel and SLEPT.

Monday---The big day :-D we woke up and pigged on the continental breakfast **cold waffles are NOT yummy. At all.** Then we went to our rooms and got all dolled up for the performance. Our hotel room was full of stage moms, nice stage moms, but stage moms nonetheless :-D We drove over around 12:00 and practiced then did our best performance ever at 1:00. At 7:00 we found out we didn't make the runoffs, but screw those because there was a dance to go to. That's where we met the Mansfield group; Shayna, Mike, Puya, Grant, and Alex But anyway they are SOOOO cool and Puya is the spazziest kid ever. I have video footage to prove it. We got dinner at BK around 11:00 and went back to the hotel to eat it. I finished and almost barfed because I feel sick when I eat that crap. Stayed up till 2:30, it was a crazy good party night.

Tuesday---Time to sightsee. We went to the American History Smithsonian Institute and I swear it was the greatest museum EVAH. Fonzie's jacket, the original Kermit and Oscar the Grouch, Dorothy's slippers, Abe Lincoln's top hat he wore when he was shot, and Amanda, brace yourself. Yes, I saw Seinfeld's PUFFY SHIRT. It was one of the greatest moments of my life. They also had the humongous flag they hung from the Pentagon after the bombing and it was very moving; there was even ash on the flag. Speaking of flags, we also got to see the one and only Star Spangled Banner. It was like, completely amazing. Then we went to the Natural History Museum, yawn yawn, looked at rocks. Then we went to dinner at some incredibly expensive place. After we walked to the "White House" where we oogled and took tons of pictures. Then we found out it was the Treasury Building. THEN we went to the REAL White House, and it was GORGEOUSLY white. :-D Once again, we stayed up super late.

Wednesday---MORE sightseeing. Today, we went to Arlington and took a bus tour; we saw the Kennedy's graves, the changing of the guards, we went IN Robert E. Lee's house, and it was so cool. After, we walked around and sat on the Mall for a while where Sarah and I almost peed our pants because there were like, NO bathrooms save for a portapotty which happened to be padlocked. I cried. Then we found a bathroom. After this we went to the Holocaust Museum and only had time for the downstairs exhibit, but it was amazing. It definitely made me cry :'( But y'all would have too because it's just so awful. After this we walked around to the Monuments and took tons of pictures of EVERYTHING. The new WW2 monument was built last year and it is GORGEOUS. It's so beautiful and... I don't know. It was SO cool. We finally got to the hotel at 11:00 where the Marchands, Ouellettes, and Jean went to Applebee's for dinner. Yes, Applebee's at 11:00 p.m. Shut up. We totally freaked out our waiter because we were so hyper and I almost went in the men's room. Then Sarah did something that... something that I won't type so she may possibly keep her dignity.

Thursday---We drove home today :-( tear tear but I missed home and all of y'all too much to stay another day :-D I am so glad I'm back to see all of you tomorrow!!! Ya better sign my yearbook guys and dolls, or I think I'll cry :-D
